Being stuck at home all day with your kids…It can get a bit stale. Am I right? Need some new activities for your kids during lockdown? You can’t have them watching T.V. all day, they aren’t really allowed to socialize with people or other kids. So what do you do to keep yourself from going crazy?!
I made a list of some activities that can help spice up your quarantine.
9 Activities For Kids In Lockdown
1. Scavenger Hunt
I placed all of my daughters favorite things and stashed them around the house. Her face lit up as she found each one. I gave her a fun little basket….It was a great way to spend part of the afternoon. This is our favorite of the activities to do during lockdown.
2. Puzzles
An oldie but a goodie. Puzzles are wonderful for child development. It has proven to improve problem solving, fine motor development, hand eye coordination, and self esteem.
3. Recipes for Kids
These are some of my favorite recipes to make with my daughter. They are easy to prepare with minimal ingredients. They are wholesome and delicious!
4. Wander Around Your Neighborhood and Learn About Your Local Wildlife.
Then go home and have your kids do some research on each of the animals. They will feel like little explorers! One of the most fun activities to do with your kids during lockdown.
5. Legos
One of my favorite activities to do during lockdown. I had to put legos. No matter how old I get, I can definitely kill an hour or two making an awesome lego tower. It’s a classic for a reason.
6. Painting/Crafts
Always a great way to interact with your children. I often do a mural of our house on our driveway with my daughter. Then we have breakfast outside. When people pass by and compliment out artwork, my daughters face lights up. It definitely build up her confidence. There is also free arts and crafts lessons here!

7. Live Story time
Authors reading their stories live is a fun way to spice up your normal reading time. There are tons of authors streaming right now due to the coronavirus.
8. Live Aquarium Streams
Just because you are forced to stay at home doesn’t mean you can’t have fun looking at animals. There are many live streams available.

Here is a tip…if you add kool aid to it, it smells amazing 🙂 One of the most fun activities for kids during lockdown.
We need to keep calm and sane during this time of crisis. This means changing up our routines a bit. Children need to be constantly stimulated, and this can be exhausting.
There is a silver lining to all of this. We are able to give them our full attention, with fewer distractions from the outside world, creating a deeper connection with our kids:).
