Oil Free Banana Bread

So this banana bread recipe is made with applesauce instead of oil. You will not miss a thing. It is light, flavorful, moist...and absolutely delicious! I used my homemade applesauce in this banana bread. The warm spices really make this banana bread stand out.
Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup apple sauce
  • ¼ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 ¾ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup optional mix ins. Chocolate chips, dried fruit, nuts etc
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Grease 9x5 inch pan
  3. Combine whole wheat flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda. Place in bowl. Put aside
  4. Whisk eggs and honey together.
  5. Place mashed bananas in mixture.
  6. Add vanilla extract and milk.
  7. Then gently fold the dry ingredients into wet ingredients. DO NOT OVER MIX. This will lead to a tough cake.
  8. Tip- If you are adding nuts to mixture make sure to toast them beforehand. Makes a big difference!
