There is nothing that I love making more than homemade nut butter. It is so simple, and there are so many ways to personalize it. I added a bit of cinnamon to this batch, and oh my goodness! It really brings the toasted nut flavor over the top. Such a simple little tweak makes all the difference.
This recipe is paleo, keto, and vegan friendly. It is also packed with protein from the hemp and chia seeds.
Just put your toasted nuts in a blender. I used my vitamix. You can also use a food processor. Both work great for this recipe
Slowly increase the speed. Scraping down sides as you go. If you have a high power blender it should not take you more than a few minutes.
It will look crumbly at first. Just keep blending and it will go to your desired texture. Once it is nearly all blended, then add your chia, hemp seeds, and any other spices you wish to use.
This is what it will look like when it is complete. Trust me, you will never be able to eat the store bought nut butter again!

1 1/2 cup mixed roasted nuts. I use pecans cashews and almonds.
1 teaspoon cinnamon.
1 tablespoon chia seed
1 tablespoon hemp seed
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (optional)

Place in blender. Blend nuts first until smooth. Then add chia seeds, hemp seeds, and cinnamon. Blend for an additional minute.
Tip#1. If you toast the nuts it really brings out the flavor, and it makes them blend more easily.
Tip#2- If you add roasted hazelnuts, it tastes like a Ferrero Rocher. One of the best chocolate candies ever!
