Healthiest Drinks
We’ve seen the rise of many different diets and health plans that all call for different drinks. Be it keto coffee, fruit smoothies or vegetable juices, there are all kinds of drinks that can help us get more nutrition and also help to cleanse our body. However, there are a couple of healthy drinks that can be applied to virtually any kind of diet and are healthy to consume no matter the situation.
In this article, we’re going to talk about a few of the most healthy drinks that you should consume on a regular basis as part of a weight loss plan or even use as replacements for soda and other poor drinking habits.
Water
Purest drink ever. Helps to flush out your system, keeps your hydrated, keeps the skin clear and is virtually tasteless. It can be turned into a healthy drink on this list, or you can just drink it as is. There’s not much to say outside of drink enough water until your urine is basically clear. If it starts to tint, then you need more water. If its’ a dark yellow or orange, you desperately need to drink more throughout the day.
Virtually every drink contains some amount of water but if you find it too plain, you can add some slices of fruit or even try drink sparkling water instead. It’s the most natural and simple beverage that we can consume, but it’s also one of the most important.
Tea
You probably saw this one coming. Tea comes in many different varieties such as green tea, dandelion tea and even matcha tea. There are countless different varieties but they typically all come with similar advantages. It can help to detox your body, it provides plenty of antioxidants, it can help with weight loss, it warms the body and it’s also virtually calorie-free unless you start adding things to it. There are plenty of flavors, it’s convenient to make and you can even buy it in bottled form.
Tea is arguably one of the healthiest things to drink, but do keep in mind that any additional things like sugar or milk can negatively affect the drink, turning it from a healthy clean beverage into a sugary commercial mess. This means that if you go out and buy bubble tea loaded with sugar and tapioca, don’t expect it to come with the same benefits as a clear cup of green tea.
If you’re buying pre-made teas such as in a bottle or powder, make sure it excludes sugars and other strange additives unless it’s from a natural source. Even then, do try to avoid sugary teas and if you absolutely must, consider flavoring your tea with fruits or even honey if you need a sweet kick. There’s so much variety that you’ll almost never get bored of tea, making it one of the healthiest and most satisfying drinks available.
Lemon, honey and ginger
This trio can be added to water or even mixed into your tea to create a warm, soothing drink that can help you in many ways.
The ginger provides a natural remedy for stomach issues, soothing your digestive system and also aiding with indigestion. Ginger tea alone isn’t for everyone, which is why many of us mix it with honey and lemon. Lemons are fantastic for the immune system, providing plenty of vitamin C and also helping to cleanse the liver. Honey has many health benefits such as containing nutrients despite being sweet and also being rich in antioxidants.
The combination of these three ingredients creates a natural immune-boosting drink that is warm, soothing and very good for you. You can pretty much drink lemon, honey and ginger as much as you like, just go easy on the honey and keep it to a minimum.
Although you can buy lemon, honey and ginger in powdered or prepared form, we recommend getting the ingredients yourself and making it at home. Simply get a few slices of lemon and ginger, place it into a teapot with some tea, pour in the water and add a few drops of honey at the end.
Summary
We’ve only mentioned three types of drinks (unless you count tea as a category of thousands) but they’re the only drinks that you should consume on a daily basis without feeling guilty or experiencing adverse effects. For instance, some people consider juice to be a very healthy and nutritious drink, but even carrots have quite a lot of sugar in them and if you consume too much juice, you’re going to feel the side effects. In short, you should be sticking to water, tea and a mix of lemon, honey and ginger.
