The almighty beet. You either love them or hate them. Personally I like them…I eat them raw. My husband on the other hand has a few choice words about the beet.

This recipe masks what he calls “dirt” taste, i call earthy flavor. The frozen banana works perfectly. Feel free to add more fruit or vegetables to it. This is just a solid base for a great start to your day.

My daughter loves my beet smoothie!

What I love about this smoothie is that the ingredients are simple, affordable, and readily available.

This smoothie is creamy and sweet. The banana gives it the texture and taste of a milkshake, without the guilt. It is also perfect for breakfast, or a mid afternoon pick me up! My toddler even loves it… she grabs for my husbands smoothie with her own straw.

Aside from it being tasty… it is loaded with antioxidants, and has anti-inflammatory benefits.

If you want extra health points, put in a tablespoon of chia or hemp seeds in there. The protein will help fill you up, and give you a great start to your day.
